Mineral Insulated Cable, abbreviated as MI cable. At present, it can be divided into two types based on structural characteristics: rigid and flexible.
Rigid mineral insulated cables were proposed by Swiss engineer Arnold Francois Borel in the late 19th century and patented in 1896. They developed rapidly after being put into production in France and England from 1934 to 1936. China also developed it in the 1960s and began to use it in the military field. It began industrial production in the mid-1980s and gradually gained full acceptance in the construction industry.
The invention of flexible mineral insulated fire-resistant cables was born around the 1970s at the Swiss cable company Stuttgart. Our company has been researching flexible mineral insulated fire-resistant cables since 2000 and launched the earliest and latest flexible mineral insulated fire-resistant cables in China in 2003.
Due to the reliability, production, and laying defects of rigid mineral insulated cables, they have gradually been delisted in developed countries in Europe and America. Flexible mineral insulated fire-resistant cables have become the mainstream cable products in the field of fire prevention.
